"I have no knowledge of the ways of these norns, grendels, etc. Either way, if we want to get more crew members, we better get started," said Ulysses, before heading for one of the buildings.
Aiofa went back below deck to get some more sleep, seeing as there wasn't any reason for her to be up.

Skipping along behind Ulysses, Zoom looked at all the wildlife as she went by. She wasn't looking where she was going as she spotted a baby creature nuzzling up to it's mother. As in result she crashed into a low hanging branch. "Opps." she muttered getting to her feet and sadly watching the animals run away. Skipping on she became aware of voices and other sounds, and a mouth watering smell came her way. Drooling slightly, she ran the rest of the way, pushing past Ulysses to get the food. The excitment of the morning had made her forget she had already eaten.

Tylrande followed Ulysses and kept a wary eye on Zoom. Typical little kids. They could never keep still for long enough.

"Be careful." was all Ulysses said to Zoom. However, he realized he had no idea where to go to sign crew members in. Oh dear...

*In Town*
"Oi! Sis, where's the Tavern you've been talkin' 'bout? The Sixth Uncle's Tavern or sumfin?" A shaggy looking male Sphinx norn said, his fur was matted and knotted all over, and he stank of perspiration and old seaweed. He wore torn, filthy cloth shorts and old leather sandals.
The girl he was talking to, supposedly his sister, was several yards ahead of him, her left hand clutched tightly around her nose. She looked to be more Hardman than Sphinx, what with her Sphinx head and tail, hardman body, arms, and legs and whatnot. She also had Sphinx stripes all along her body, she kept her short fur clean and tidy, and she wore old white pants and a sweat stained long-sleaved shirt, with sandals that matched her brother's. Her eyes were green and she had an irritated expression on her face. "It's the Seventh Son Tavern, you dimwit. It should be close by, that's what them locals said. Dear Shee this place stinks, almost as bad as you!"
Her Brother paused for a moment and frowned. "Hey, that was harsh, I don't smell that bad!" The Sister chuckled as she skipped away. "You're right, you smell even worse!"
*On the Second Chance*
Skye and Edo were somewhere below deck, they had been there since the Pirates attacked. "Wait a second, we can go now... It's safe." Skye said before nudging Edo until she woke up, then they both left, looking for the others.

"Maybe there's a tavern in town? Would be pirates always seem to hang out at taverns, goodness knows why." Tylrade shrugged.

"I don't think we want pirates, other than the ones we already have..." Ulysses said, looking back at the Second Chance. =============
Yer wandered around the port town randomly.
For many years, the sea ettin had wanted to join up with a sailing crew, but not only was his own family against it, crews these days had something against ettins. Perhaps because of the stereotype that all ettins were scaredycat kleptomaniacs?
His hand closed on his sword angerly. That stereotype was not true of him, and just because it existed he wasn't getting to be on the high seas. Needless to say, it was making him mad.

Back on the ship, Yaris had gotten out the mops and buckets.
"Here you two go." she said, handing Han and Jason two buckets and two mops. "You'll do fine with those. Now, you know how to use them, don't you? Dip the mop in the bucket, then slide the soft end of the mop on the ground..."
"We know, thanks." said Han, grumbeling as he began to mop the floor. He had done this a million times on the old ship.
Little did any of them know, something was stirring in the depths of the water below their ship. As a matter of fact, many of these somethings had smelled out life, and were coming up eagerly....
***
It was a few hours later. Han and Jason were snoring in the cots, while Yaris wiped the top of her head. The inside of the ship was very hot and stuffy, and she didn't like it at all.
Suddenly, the ship gave a jolt.
Yaris looked around. Were they taking off? But no. The others would have come down, possible with new crewmates, if they were leaving. It must have been some sort of small Earthquake. She settled down again.
The ship gave another jolt.
This jolt was harder than the last one, and Yaris slid off her seat onto the ground with a hard thump. Now very irritated, she got up and marched up to the top of the ship to see what was the matter.
She looked out from the door. Nothing seemed the matter. She was about to go inside with the ship gave a huge jolt.
The jolt was so great that Yaris feared the ship might fall on its side. She screamed and held on to the door frame. She heard two thumps behind her, followed by much swearing, and knew that Jason and Han had been awakened.
Yaris ran out onto the deck, running to the side to see what was the matter...
She wished she hadn't.
As she looked over the side, she saw many disgusting creatures crawling up the sides. They had round, potato like bodies, with arms long enough to drag on the ground and legs like that of a grendel's. They had huge fangs and no lips, so their teeth stuck out in all their glory. They had long tails, and a dragon like crest that extended from the top of the head to the tip of the tail.
The others joined her. Yaris looked over the side, eyes widening in fear.
She screamed.
So did Han and Jason.
The scream was so loud that it was even heard in the village. Heads turned, wondering what was the matter. An old man in a rocking chair who was close to where the ship was docked looked over, then sighed and shook his head.
"Grendalins." he said to himself. "What a way to go. And such a nice ship too..."

Aiofa fell out of bed when the ship first jolted. It would take one heckuva new crew to shake the Second Chance like that. Probably some sea monster...
She got up, and came back out onto the deck, where Yaris, Jason, and some other norn were yelling their heads off.
"Shut up, will you?" she grumbled as she went to see what was the matter. Turns out, a bunch of Grendalins were climbing up the side of the ship.
The magma bengal rolled her eyes. She'd dealt with these creatures before, and therefore looked quite unalarmed. Instead, she drew her blunderbuss and began shooting at the beasts.
"Get, you beasties, get!" she yelled as the triple barrels on her gun were put to good use.

Zoom ignored Ty and Ulysses's warnings and ran into a dark shop were the smell was coming from. She paused when she heard the screaming, turnign slightly but shrugged her shoulders and kept going. "Hey, um excuse me? What's that delicous smell?" she asked the bar tender, not knowing she had stumbled across the Seven Brother Tavern. "Out the back sweetie, and around the corner." the norn said pointing. Happily Zoom ran out the back to eat, not knowing what was happening back on the ship.

"Zoom!" Tylrande cried, annoyed, and chased the young norn. She barged into the tavern, looked around then ran off in the direction Zoom had gone.
-------
Chengo bolted up, stared around and drew his katana, racing at the nearest Grendalin with roar. He fumbled in his pocket for his Water Talisman...

One Grendalin with no eye managed to get on the deck of the ship. It lowered its arms, letting them drag on the ground. It turned its one beady eye to where Chengo was fumbling in his pocket. He roared and charged.
"NOOO!" screamed Yaris. She forgot everything she learned about Dark magic. She forgot that she even knew anything about magic right at that moment. She leaped up and grabbed onto the Grendalin's back.
She kicked, she yelled, she screamed, and the grendalin roared and bucked like an angry bull. Both of them were at the edge of the ship, were they might tumble over.....
Suddenly, there was a speading bit of light. Yaris was knocked off the Grendalin, and the captain took her place. The Grendalin roared and toopled over the edge of the ship, captain and all. There was a huge splash, and they were gone.

Aiofa stopped shooting for a bit as she watched Yaris and the Grendalin fought. Then after a great flash of light, the pirate captain replaced her and both he and the monster fell into the sea.
She then attempted to try and blast the rest of the creatures off with magic, but she knew very little about using Light magic-and wound up making herself blind instead. ===================
Ulysses grumbled and chased after Tylrande and Zoom.
"We got to stick together, you know!" he yelled after the two.

"Tell that to Zoom." Tylrande said angrily. "I HATE little kids, Chengo's the one who's good with them, not me." ------- Chengo pulled on the Talisman and grew to twice his original size, fur changing blue and growing horns and fins. He looked around feverishly, trying to see where Yaris had vanished to, but he had to stop to hurl a Grendalin that attacked him into the sea.

Yaris, Han, and Jason were backed up in the corner of the ship by three huge, menecing looking grendalins. Yaris had a mop, while Han and Jason carried buckets.
"OY, GET AWAY THERE!" yelled Yaris, and she hit a Grendalin on the head with the end of the mop. Han and Jason splashed the other two Grendalins.
While these Aquatic Viriety Grendalins were used to water, they were not exactly used to soup. The soup soaked through to their skins like a poisin, and they screamed in agony and fell over the side of the ship. The Grendalin that Yaris had hit on the head roared and attempted to eat the mop, yet it got lodged in its throut and the Grendalin also fell over the ship in pain, later on choking to death.
Before anyone could gloat however, three larger grendalins grabbed them all, roared in triumph, and jumped over the ship into the water, taking the screaming three down into the cold ocean. Just before Jason went under, he saw that weird cloaked guy again, staring down into the water, watching them....
Yaris saw him too. She knew what it meant.
"I DEFY YOU... blugh..." she said as she went under, shaking her fist all the way. Han, who could not see death, had no idea what Yaris was shouting about, but he did know that he did not want to be carried down into the depths. He began to struggle and he opened his mouth to yell. But then he stopped. He would waste his breathe....
Suddenly, all three of them felt something hard hit them on the head, and they lost conscience.
***
Yaris woke up to find herself in a huge bubble underwater. She breathed in. Oxygen! She was realived.
Until she looked around...
She found that she was in a huge line of bubbles filled with different creatures, most unconscience. She saw swimming water grendalins swimming about, checking the bubbles. A little to her right, she saw a Grendalin look at the bubble of a green ettin who was awake and shivering in fright. The grendalin popped the bubble with one sharp claw, grabbed the ettin roughly, and dragged him away.
She pretended to be asleep.

"YARIS!" Chengo roared and dived straight into the sea. The great thing about the Water Talisman was that he now had gills. He swam furiously after the Grendalins until he came to what looked like an underwater city. The ocean down here was black/green and polluted. Yuck. Chengo saw a whole line of bubbles, and decided to watch and wait, to take action. After all, time spent in reconaissance is seldom wasted. He darted behind a building and hid in the uck, eyes on the bubbles.

Aiofa was too busy trying to regain her eyesight to pay any attention to Yaris's predicament. Being your average, non-amphibious magma-bengal, there would be very little she could do even if she could see.
She finally managed to get most of it back after rubbing her eyes, and then she didn't like what she saw-a bunch of Grendalins had surrounded her.
"Oh sh-" was all Aiofa had time to say before one grabbed her and leapt overboard with her.
However, what it didn't know was grabbing norns with rapiers was a big mistake, especially if you fail to keep their arms restrained. Aiofa quickly drew hers and ran the Grendalin through, killing it and therefore escaping from its grasp.
That was the good news-the bad news was now she was stuck in the water, and all the grendalins on board were coming in after her. Fortunatly, she still had her rapier. And therefore, a very large fight started between her and the grendalins.
She was holding them off, but she needed help. And there was only 2 more norns on the ship that were remaining, as far as she knew.
"SKYE! EDO! WE NEED HELP OUT HERE!" she screamed. ================
Ulysses caught up with Tyl, and looked around.
"Now, where'd she go...?" he asked.

Han had woken up in his bubble. He was right next to Yaris's. He began to shout, his shouts sounding like a huge echo in the water.
"HAN, SHUT UP!" yelled Yaris.
But it was too late.
A Grendalin had heard Han and Yaris yelling, and had come over to inspect. He looked at them with one beady eye. By this time, Jason, who was on the other side of Yaris, had woken up, and his mouth was stretched in a silent scream.
The Grendalin raised a clawed finger up to Han's bubble, as if ready to pop it. Then the hand went through the bubble, and the Grendalin held onto Han's throut. Han soon stopped screaming, and the Grendalin let go of him and swam off.
Yaris was realived to see that Han was alive enough to rub his neck in pain. He gave her a questioning look, as if asking "What do we do now?"
Yaris returned a look that said "I don't know."
She then examined the other bubbles. She saw that the pirate ettin had been captured as well. He was still floating eirrily, unconscience.
"SING!"
Han heard a Grendalin shout this loud word, and he looked to her right to see that a little preformance was going on. Apparently, the Grendalins had captured a female Mernorn, and had chained her up on a stage. They were trying to force her to sing, yet she seemed too frightened to utter a squeak.
"SING! SING DARN YOU!"
One grendalin kicked the mernorn, and she began to sing in a fearful tone.
"Once lying on a rock Now chained up to a stage What repulsive creatures have done this to me?"
"NOT SO DANG DEPRESSING!" shouted the Grendalin, and he kicked her again.
Han looked over at the others to see what they thought of this, and they were both looking in puzzlement.
"Why are they growling at that poor Mernorn?" asked Yaris. "A lot of grunts and growls and roars. Is that their language? How repulsive."
Han raised an eyebrow. He didn't hear to many grunts and growls. He heard the grendalins speaking. What was going on?

Chengo saw that the Grendalins seemed to be preoccupied with an unfortunate mernorn, so he swiftly and silently swam foward, constantly darting for cover to make sure he wasn't spotted. He eventually made it to Yaris and co's bubble and gave them the thumbs up before trying to tell them his plan in sign language. He doubted very much that he'd be able to speak English underwater, and the norns probably couldn't talk fish.

"I can't understand..." said Yaris.
"I know!" said Jason. "This is sign language! I can interprete! I learned from my brother! Watch..."
He looked at Chengo's hands carefully, then said "I do believe he said 'a big fish will eat a cat on tommorow's white beach while crabs scream.'"
"JASON, THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!" yelled Yaris.
She then looked over at Han, who said "Uhm.... I can interperate sign langauge too... for real."
