Draconorn rampaged out of the tent in a fit of high spirits, tailed by an exasperated Jak and gloomy Danny. In fact, Danny looked so miserable that it almost looked as though a rain cloud was following him everywhere. "Cheer up sport, it's a festival!" Draconorn beamed and romped off. "Contra, hey! Contra!" Jak swore under his breath andstayed close to Draconorn, who was currently a very large minotaur. Danny followed, staring around dejectedly as if he didn't care what was going on. "Make sure you don't bang into the sides of the Gate." He muttered. "What?" Jak asked, confused. 'Invisible." Danny shrugged and pointed at something neither Jak or Draconorn could see.

Fibre had watched the gate being opened. It sort of shimmered, half there and half not. Sfot had to go deal with a small problem at Over There, so F-O had left with ten pounds in case she wanted anything and the reminder that the corpse girl would be back before lunch at the latest.
She looked around, in case there was anyone she recognised. She was slightly nervous and didn't know what to expect.

"There you are!" Contra beamed when she noticed Drac and co. "My my, what's the matter with Danny? You know what, forget I asked. Anyway, who else is going to visit Aaron? Rein already left to find him, I'll be joining him in a minute."
"Hey! Contra! My little girl!" Said a ghostly norn who looked quite similar to Contra, but older. She ran over to Contra and gave her a big hug. "Hiya, mom. How's dad?" Contra asked as her mother finally released her from her bear hug. "As lively as he'll ever get. How's your brother?" "He's not my brother, mom. He was some evil mage, he's the one who assassinated you and dad." "Oh, right right, I forgot. He isn't here too, is he?" "Not that I know of." "Alright, then. I'll tell your father that I saw you, now you go run of with your friends and have a good time, okey-day?" "Yes, mom." Contra grumbled as her mother cheerfully skipped away. "That, in case you haven't figured it out yet, was my mother, Queen Carille. She and my father, King Shade, were murdered by my so-called 'brother'. They were poisoned in their sleep... He had hypnotised them into thinking he was their son, I never knew him very well because I was usually on the other end of the castle... Yeah, I'm royalty, but it's meaningless when your kingdom has been destroyed."
She said rather calmly before walking off down the road, pausing to appreciate the occasional blue rose. 'What did the Blue Rose mean in the language of flowers...? Oh yes, now I remember... doing the impossible, reaching that unreachable star, heh...' She mused as she wandered along.
----
Rein had just arrived at a huge, gloomy tower. The ground around it was bare and gray, and the entire area was surrounded by a rather creepy looking fence. Just ahead was the gate, and it's two gatekeepers. One looked like a rather humaniod grendel with incredibly long, braided golden-blonde hair, dressed in a red trenchcoat, white undershirt, and brown jeans, not to mention his black leather boots. His scales were a leafy green, and his eyes were red, and he always seemed to have an angry look on his face. The one beside him looked like a norn, wearing the same as the other gatekeeper but white. Her long brown hair was neatly braided, and was slightly darker than her light brown fur, her eyes were blue, but seemed to be full of sadness.
The Grendel approached Rein, who was rather curious as to who these creatures are. "I'm Mhug, and that's Tea over there." He said, jabbing a thumb in Tea's direction. "We're here to keep people out of the Duke's tower. You want in?" Rein nodded nervously. "Actually, I do. My name is Rein, by the way..."
"Well that's too ba... wait... Rein?" For a moment a shocked expression came about Mhug and Tea's face. That's when Tea stepped over to Rein and Mhug went back to his previous position. "Did you say your name was Rein?" She asked, her voice was soft and sweet, she had the voice of a caring mother, it seemed. "Yes. I wanted to ask the Duke a question about my father. The Duke knows a lot about all the lost in New Erebus, doesn't he?" He asked, worried that maybe the Duke wouldn't know anything about his father. "Don't worry, you're right. But he can't be disturbed at the moment. He'll leave the tower soon, and then everyone may ask him a question or two. You're welcome to wait here with us until then, if you'd like to."
Rein's ears perked up, he could hardly wait to see the Duke of the Dead himself. "Sure." He said cheerfully, and stood by the gate as he waited... and waited... and waited...
(Again, writer's block... ;D)

Ammarcie stood on tiptoes, trying in vain to see other the top of the crowds. She was surprised she had come at all, but the thought of seeing her family again was an oppiturnity she couldn't miss. As the gates opened, the crowd surged forward walking striaght over her. Yelling she ran between the legs of passer bys, trying not to panic. A foot kicked her in the back, making her topple forward into the path of someone's gaint leg. Screaming she tried to move out the way, but she wasn't fast enough. She felt the leg hit her, and then she was moving at a steady pace. Opening one eye she found herself clinging to the leg for dear life, sitting on the owners foot. She didn't let go due to the fear of being squished, even when she had passed the gate.

Draconorn followed Contra, but once she was on the other side of the gate she stopped. "Wait-" She started, but Danny finished the question. "This isn't like the Farplane, is it?" Danny asked nervously. "Since I'm dead... does it mean that if I go in I won't be able to come back?" Draconorn turned to Contra for her answer. Jak wasn't paying attention, he was busy listening to a squealing noise coming from the middle of the crowd. "Sounds like a Moogle..." He muttered to himself.

Before Contra had left, she simply smiled and said; "Of course not, only the glitchy ghosts you see standing about the tombstones are stuck in this place. But it's not so bad, when the festival is over they just go back to sleep... Tonight they'll sleep, and wake up next year, at the next festival. It'll be like that until the end of this world, most likely."

Draconorn breathed a sigh of relief. Danny looked a little happier, but he stilll seemed quite under the weather as he walked through the gate. Jak glanced at the crowd suspiciouslly before following.

Donald and Goofy had been searching for their wayward friend everywhere except the main gate where the crowds were. And as they approached them for the first time, they knew they should've looked there.
"Sora!" cried Donald, running up to Sora, who was just about to enter New Erebus.
When Sora turned around, the duck continued "Don't sneak out on us!"
"Sorry, but I-" began Sora.
"A heartless!" Goofy suddenly said. He was pointing at the nearby Danny.
Donald said nothing, but scowled and waved his staff in a menacing manner.
Sora followed their gazes.
"Guys, I don't think that's a Heartless." he said.
"Sure, and 'Ansem' wasn't a heartless either!" responded Donald.
"I don't know Donald. Perhaps Sora's right." said Goofy, calming down.
"He seems like one, though..." said Donald.

Danny darted forwards and moved a random person slightly to the right. "You were going to bump into the side of the gate." He explained simply. "Oh, thanks." The person said sheepishly and scuttled away. "Well, where to now?" Draconorn asked. Jak, yet again, wasn't keeping track of the conversation. "Uh... can we help you?" He said to three people who seemed to be looking at them. One was a duck, one was a dog and one was a teenage boy.

Suddenly, Rein felt a gust of icey cold wind nearly knock him forward. He turned to see that the huge door to the dark tower had opened, and in the doorway stood a tall, mysterious fellow all dressed up, looking like he'd just arrived from some masquerade ball. His red mask had no strings to hold it up, it simply stuck to the brown, striped fur around his hazel eyes. He wrapped his red cape tightly around himself as he simply walked through the gate. His long ears fidgeted as he passed Rein and the two gatekeepers, but he kept his focus on the area before him. "There's the Duke, kid, now let's make sure nobody decides to bug him, alright? Let's go now." Mhug said as he grabbed Rein by the arm and ran off to keep up with the Duke. (I'll be trying to get a picture, or atleast a better description of the Duke soon.)
"Ow-hey, wait! Let go of my arm, I can keep up just fine without your help, thankyouverymuch!" Rein shouted. Mhug released his grip on the boy's arm but kept chasing after the Duke, who seemed to enjoy his speedwalking through New Erebus. It was when he spotted others talking with their lost ones that he suddenly vanished into thin air. "Wha-? Did he just disappea--" Mhug rolled his eyes before interrupting. "He can turn invisible, kid, git used to it. Now just follow us, we can see him fine."
The Duke was nearing the invisible Gate when he nearly bumped into Contra. His ears fidgeted again. "Hey Rein! Who're those two you've got with you?" Contra asked the exhausted Rein who had been running for what felt like dozens of miles. "Mhug," He gasped, jabbing a thumb at Mhug, but simply cannot catch his breath long enough to introduce Tea. "Yeah, I'm Mhug, an' this is Tea. That's tay-uh, by the way, spelled 'tee-ee-ay', but ain't pronounced that way. Anyway, we've got important business to attend to, so be a good girl and stay out of our way, hm?" Mhug simply wrapped his right arm around Rein and carried him as they resumed their Duke-chasing. Contra raised a brow as the strange trio ran off. "Wait... what just happened? Why on earth did they have Rein with them? Ugh, that boy never tells me anything..." She mumbled as she continued down the road.
(Meh, can't think of anything really good right now, too tired...)

"Well, we-" began Sora, trying to answer Jak's question when Donald interrupted.
Pointing at Danny, Donald, rather rudely, asked "Is that a Heartless?"
Sora made a face. Goofy looked away, putting his forefingers together like he was ashamed of something.

A loud zapping sound cut through the chatter and gossip of the visitors and their lost ones. The Duke of the Dead could be seen standing just on the other side of the gate, his fists clenched and his fur burnt in some spots. He apparently tried to leave New Erebus but some force prevented him from doing so. He swore under his breath before he noticed Danny and paused for a moment. He shook his head, as if snapping out of some kind of daze. "Every year when the gates open, I try to get out at least once, but I'm stuck here... I want to know what it's like out there, I'm sick of counting every pebble in New Erebus, or watching the gatekeepers rake leaves all autumn... It gets so incredibly monotonous!!!" He yelled before falling to his knees and glaring at a flower that he almost crushed with his knees. "I'm stuck here because I have to watch over these dead guys, but I can't stand being so alone anymore... The gatekeepers are just as bitter and bothersome as I am." He said with a slight chuckle.

Demi danced in the air as KC walked on. Demi was small enough to not shock people, but that didn't stop her from trying. She would often sneak up behind passerby, then suddenly roar loudly in their ears.
After apoligising to several now deaf inhabitants of the world, KC11 tied a rope around Demi's neck and dragged her through the gate so that she wouldn't cause anymore trouble.
KC was busy looking over at the graves, but Demi spotted the group by the gate. There was Danny, Donald, Goofy, some teenager she didn't know, and the Duke of the Dead.
"KC! IT'S THE DUCK OF THE DEAD! THE DUCK OF THE DEAD!"
Demi had somehow gotten it into her head that the Duke of the Dead was actually called the Duck of the Dead, and for a second KC thought she was talking about Donald, but then remembered Demi's strange brain, and saw the Duke of the Dead weeping by the gate. She walked over to the group.
"Excuse me." asked KC polietly. "But is there something wrong?"
No one, she figured, would ever reconize me. Me, KC11, the deranged dragon who nearly killed her own sister, the great KC8, in a blind rage. Even though I had such good reason, they will still view me as a killer. But I am in human form. They won't reconsize me.
So long as they didn't look at my eyes too closely.

Danny blinked. "A what?" Jak squinted at Danny. "Well, he whacks people around sometimes but I wouldn't say he's that much of a meanie..." Draconorn remained silent, thinking. After a while she said, "Jak, I don't think he means 'is he heartless', I think he means 'is he a Heartless... whatever those are." At that, she turned to Donald. "We have no idea what a Heartless is, therefore we can't give you a straight answer." Danny raised an eyebrow. "Drac..."

Ammarcie sat rubbing her head when she heard the someone shouting "KC! IT'S THE DUCK OF THE DEAD! THE DUCK OF THE DEAD!"Frowning she looked upwards and gave a muffled gasp. There was a dracolich hovering above a small group, looking rather pleased with itself. A rope was tied around its neck, held by a human girl. Getting to her feet she trotted towards them, curiosity getting the better of her. "Excuse me? Who is that?" She asked pointing at Demi.
(Sorry about bad typing. I've got a cat napping on my hand)

*Thud*
Mhug dropped Rein on the ground behind the Duke and plopped himself down on the ground as well. He looked at the Duke and just whined; "Bah, Duke, why do ya hafta do this every time? Like I told ya, it isn't going to wor--" The Duke rose and turned around before giving Mhug a terrifying glare. "-Silence." He growled. "I grow tired of your incessant whining, Mhug. Now go back to the gate, it's time for me to answer the people's questions..." He looked around to see a crowd forming around him. "Momma, is dat thuh Duke?" Asked a young Ettin child as she tugged on her mother's dress. The whole crowd murmured and a few 'squee'd' with excitement. "Oi, bigger crowd than last year, it looks like. Where to start...?" He pondered as people began to raise their hands and shout things such as 'me first', 'oh pick me' etc. etc...
Contra had returned to the gate after watching people flock towards it, but it was difficult getting through the excited group of people. When she finally got through she noticed the Duke there. "Ah, so there's the famous Duke I've been hearing so much about..." She said to herself. The Duke quickly turned his head to see Contra, and his ears twitched again before he turned his gaze. "Let's start with..." He began, looking around at the crowd around him. He spotted a Dunmer man dressed in netch leather armor, and pointed a finger at him. "-you there. Any questions? Only one or two small ones, please. I've got hundreds, if not thousands of other people waiting."
The man stepped forward and the crowd fell silent. He asked his question, which was rather common, and the Duke answered. It was like that with the next handful of people, questions concerning grandparents, pets, zombies, and such. It's when Rein finally sat up and raised his hand that Aaron paused. "Umm, would you mind answering my question next?" He asked, afraid that he'd be last or something. Aaron just nodded and watched Rein stand and brush himself off. "Um, I looked practically everywhere... but I can't find my father, Aaron. I just wanted to know if you could tell me of his whereabouts..."
The Duke said nothing for what felt like forever to Rein, until he finally answered; "Meet me at the tower you saw earlier, I will show you to your father." He said quietly, just barely loud enough for Rein to hear. "Next?" The Duke said as he turned his gaze back to the crowd before him.

Fibre looked up at the zap and something about a duck. 'The duke is here?...I almost missed him!' She though as she walked over, to find out for herself the size of the crowd. Best make use of her ghost powers, then.
Careful to aviod the gate, F-O floated over to listen to the Duke answer the questions.

KC turned to Ammarcie, then said "This is Demi. She's a dracolich."
"Hello, food!" said Demi. She then leaped at Ammarcie.
KC leaped at Demi, noting that a normal human doesn't leap so high. If she wanted to keep cover, she had to be more like a human. Oh well. Too late now.
She grabbed the squirming Demi and said "And an annoying one at that."
While she was trying to get Demi to calm down, she suddenly remembered that something was missing.
"Hey, you haven't seen a scrawny bengel tiger wearing glasses around here, have you?"
