Yeah, song I wrote. But it needs a sad, depressing kinda tune. Think of Faith Hill's 'There You'll Be' from Pearl Harbour and humit along with the words, then you'll have the tune I orginally was going to have....
Goodbye Memories
Verse 1
Leaving makes you find
That happiness is left behind
And dark and gloomy sadness arrives.
You can make many friends,
But the result in the end
Isn't as pleasing as you expected.
Tears run down your cheeks,
As the days turn into weeks.
You're waiting for that promised call
That doesn't come at all.
Chorus:
Wipe the memories
From your glistening eyes
Prove that you're stronger
Much to their suprise.
Open your heart to the future and today
Realise, how much the past has to pay.
Nothing is as simple as it seems,
It's just a prospect of your wildest dreams.
So say, goodbye memories.
Verse 2:
Hear the light footfalls,
Of children racing down the hall,
But when you poke your head around the corner
They're gone.
Sitting alone at night
Eating dinner by candlelight
Silence is pressuring you
To make conversation to an empty room.
As you throw down your fork and knife,
Thinking of your ruined life
You spy the empty chairs,
And they fill you with despair.
Chorus
Verse 3:
Suitcase on the bed,
Thinking of the thoughts that have lead,
To this moment here and now.
See the protrait,
In it's broken glass frame
The smiling family
Has ceased to be.
Step out the front door,
Can't take it anymore
Throw your gear in the car.
Drive away
Near or far
Chorus
So say, goodbye memories.
===============
so what ya think?
It's based on the point of view on one of my characters in a story I'm rewriting called 'Life'....only she doesn't drive away...
