This is the resource thread for Aftershock, a post-apocalyptic RP that takes place in the middle east, in the USA. After the war, that coupled with global warming caused the icecaps/icebergs/whatevers to melt, meaning the sea level will have risen considerably, meaning states such as California and/or Florida are now half-underwater, etc, etc. I don't give a care whether you think global warming exists or not, btw. :D
Time: At least 2160. :D Currency: Pull-Tabs (Like on beverage cans) Plotline: A group of new, young(or young/ish) travelers have to leave the (mostly) safe town of Harbrook in search of better land.
Rules: 1. Use common sense, no godmodding, no powerplaying, etc. 2. Your character must be human, nothing else. 3. You may only have one character at a time. 4. If your character gets a pet or convinces an NPC to join the group or whatever, I control what the pet/NPC/whatever. 5. When in a fight with a monster/NPC/whatever, it's my job to control those kinda things, and when you shoot at one or at something or whatever, I'll roll some dice to decide whether you hit or whatever or not. 6. If you decided that your character is killable, when they're shot/attacked/whatever and is fatally injured, I'll tell you how much longer they have to live, so they have the time to say their last words and/or final wishes and such.

((Oh grah I just wrote this all up AND THE SERVER WAS FRICKIN' BUSY. T_T))
Pure water is a precious thing. Uncleaned, it can give you radiation poisioning. Because of this, most people beat the dirt out of their clothes.
Some people have developed ways to reduce a persons rad. levels, and even some ways to protect them for a short while from radiation. However, this is expensive and hard to create. -----------------------------------------------------------
Name: Anna Age: 19 Gender: Female Race: Human Personality: Fiercely loyal to her friends, Anna is facinated by machinery. She does her best to stop arguements, but if you pick a fight with her she won't back down until she's beaten. Appearance: With murky blue eyes and brown hair, Anna might have tanned skin. However, this is incredibly hard to judge as she's covered in dirt. Her hair is held back by a once blue bandana that's now the same dirty brown as the rest of her. Faded denim dungarees and a brown, slightly patched shirt are her favored clothes. Single item they own: A wrench One unique ability: Is skilled with clockwork, but not a master with it. Notes: Has no problems with being dirty, and only beats the dirt off her clothes when she has to.

((Haha! A Fallout RP! I've been wanting to play one for ages!)) Name: Liam Age: 17 Gender: Male Race: Caucasian Personality: Smart, both of the Street and Book variety. Rarely talks, and when he does talk, he is very brief. Most of the time, he stays out of the way. The rest of the village only notices him when he brings food and such out from the wasteland. On these trips into town is when he trades the food and supplies for water. He is very interested in books and technical devices. Appearance: With dark blond hair and grey eyes, Liam is abnormally pale, due to a mutation. (This is the only real mutation he has, and it's a flaw. I hope you don't mind that.) Because of this, he can very easily get a sunburn. Single item they own: Black rags, made of everything from leather to velvet. His rags break up his silhouette, so it assists him in sneaking at nighttime. They also mask his scent, making animals and such not notice him as well. One unique ability: Free Running; an acrobatic method of traveling from one place to another by running. Includes minor wall-running, back flips and such. Notes: Liam is a very private person, and only lives near Harbrook so that he can trade things for fresh water. Otherwise, he spends his time in a small cave that used to be someone's cellar before the war. Here is an example of what he looks like: EDIT: I'm fine if he was killed, but I'd prefer if he wasn't.

Yeah, I figured I'd make an RP heavily influenced/based off of/ripped off of Fallout 3, but if I wrote 'Fallout 3 RP', it'd be a turn-off for anyone who HASN'T played the game.
Name: Rust (Often called Rusty) Age: 19 Gender: Female Race: Caucasian Personality: Two words: Potentially Hazardous. Although she seems a bit quiet on the outside, she loves all things that go 'BOOM', and the only time one can see her truly smile is when she's about to blow something up. She knows how to have fun and enjoys joking around, but can be rather pessimistic in bad situations. She is loyal to her friends. Well, if she had any.
Appearance: Somewhat tall for a girl of her age, and looks quite fit, probably from all the exercise and jumping around. Being exposed to small amounts of radiation over time has made her pale-skinned. Her bright blond hair is darkened and dirtied by dust and dirt, but she doesn't seem to care. In her bright blue eyes is a look of confidence and courage. Her scruffy outfit is even worse than her hair. A hint: Her tan jacket wasn't always tan, and her slacks weren't always scuffed up. Partially covering her hands are dark brown (almost black) biker gloves, fingerless and made of soft but durable material. She also wears a dirty green baseball cap, depending on the weather. When she's not wearing it she leaves it in her bag.
Single item they own: A single land mine she disarmed in a training exercise, which she keeps tucked away in her dark green messenger bag. (Yes, it was active and quite dangerous. Yes, she could've been 'asploded.)
One unique ability: Disarming land mines requires speed and skill, both of which she has.
Notes: Her mother died when she was a toddler, so she had to be raised in Harbrook solely by her father, who was rather strict but fair. She respects him greatly, and is very calm and obedient when he is present. She's left the town a few times for training purposes, but has never gone very far.
LOL this character is prone to changes. *Fails* I was kinda braindead.

ANOTHER THING:
If you don't mind your character being killed, go ahead and say so in the notes. If your character does die, if the group finds a survivor/traveler, you may take control of any one of them. If you don't want your character killed, please mention that in your notes.

Once the group has left Harbrook, newcomers (RPers, that is) can't join until, I dunno, they reach the next town/campsite/whatever.

Edit: Oh, and I'll be keeping track of how many tabs each character has. When you look through a container or are just... whatever, I'll tell you how many tabs you've found, if any. Everyone's first character starts with 20 tabs.
